bored games?

board games are fun! my friends and i used to have a night where we would play often but it has dwindled...adulthood, blegh.

so my nephew turned 10 this week and per usual he requested a movie that cost $24.99. i am morally opposed to spending 25 of my hard earned dollars on a 90 minute animated movie that he will throw on the floor and scratch within a week or two. so i opted for a board game, specifically, perfection...
the little nephew and i had a blast with it! we played it most of the night and giggled and he jumped and it was fun. but older nephew is not much into it...
he will play monopoly to get money and stuff...and he was actually reading a book last night. but video games, nintendo ds are all that boy thinks about. sooo hard to relate. (i am hoping once he is old enough to appreciate music we can totally bond there)
i miss the old school board games. most of them are still on the shelves but they definitely do not get as much attention as the hot at the moment trading toys. i am glad my little nephew and i can giggle and have fun with the game that we so know is going to pop up at a certain time. but it is fun to "be surprised" and play it over. and over. and over again!
